Animated Podcast Art

Animated cover for Dough, a podcast about productivity and online business. The final design is minimal, with the title in bold letters and a bright orange colour scheme.

This concept serves the show well as its main artwork, catching the attention of listeners and setting up a strong base for future branding.

Just Launched: Code RED

Dash0's company podcast is now live, covering topics like observability and monitoring in depth with industry leaders. Hosted by Mirko Novakovic, CEO of Dash0.

I was responsible for the visual branding and artwork:

The bold typographic design distils the entire podcast into two lines of monospaced text, with the title set inside a coding tag.

The cover's bright gradient background and great legibility ensure that it is effective even when seen as a tiny icon. Have a listen:

Custom Episode Artwork

I recently developed a suite of editable templates to help Human1st promote their B2B podcast, Hacking Innovation.

Key ideas and conversations are highlighted in animated audiograms. Every episode has the guest's name, headshot, and topic captured in appealing thumbnails that look great across all platforms.

Framing guests in a complementary way encourages other experts to be interviewed on the show. The “pulse effect” is used to represent ripples of influence around the guest and their ideas.

Custom episode art keeps the show's catalogue looking fresh and exciting, especially with platforms like Apple Podcasts now supporting unique art for every episode.

Career Highlights

Seen here are some of my all-time favourite projects. These shows have touched millions of people over the last few years, with my artwork proudly representing them everywhere they are seen.

Podcasts with my artwork endure (Tasteless for 6+ years), secure corporate investments ($400M for the company behind Forge Ahead), and reach huge audiences (Optimal Living Daily with 350M+ downloads).

Most rewardingly, they give the talented people behind these shows the confidence to launch them. Many are months in the making until our branding finally makes it real – and ready for the world to see and hear.

Apple Podcasts ⬩ Promotional Artwork

This design was used by Optimal Living Daily to effectively promote its premium subscription in Apple Podcasts.

Premium channels that are selected by Apple are featured prominently across their platform, significantly boosting revenue and downloads. And compelling artwork is an important criterion for being selected.

Here we see the design in action. This graphic, called Subscription Tall, is a "key place on iPhone to encourage listeners to subscribe to your show or channel".

Artwork should be beautiful, responsive, and optimised for each of the required formats. From small icons to panoramic banners displayed on the homepage (below), each is an opportunity to reach new listeners.
